BOE

Also known as:

Barrels of oil equivalent

BOE is a measure of hydrocarbon volume (typically natural gas) in terms of the barrels of crude oil that would have the same energy content. BOE is typically used as a way of comparing natural gas volumes to crude oil when measuring reserves or production.

There is no single standard conversion factor for BOE but a common one is 5500 cubic feet of natural gas to one barrel of oil equivalent.
