Refinery history

2027 - Expected completion of project to expand capacity by 120 kbpd and add a 360 kt/year polypropylene (PP) unit. 

2024 - Announced an strategic partnership with NTPC Forge in Advanced Biofuel Development.

2024 - Executed one of the longest HDD for its crude oil pipeline project in Subansiri River (Assam)

2023 - Inaugurated the IBFPL pipeline.

2021 - Company announced its plans to sell 61.65% stake of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to Engineers India Ltd.

2015 - Commissioned its grass root Solvent Deoiling Unit that produces Paraffin & Microcrystalline waxes.

2013 - Commissioned its Naphtha Splitter Unit.

2004 - Coke calcination unit was commissioned.

2001 - Company becomes subsidiary of BPCL.

2000 - Hydrogen and hydrocracker units and sulfur recovery block were commissioned and the company started commercial production.

1999 - Crude & vacuum distillation units and delayed coker unit were commissioned.

1995 - BPCL acquired 32%.

1993 - Numaligarh Refinery was incorporated.
