Dubai is a medium sour crude oil, produced in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.  As one of the few spot traded Middle Eastern grades, it is an important benchmark crude for all Middle East crudes going to Asian markets.

Pricing for the Dubai spot market is assessed by the price reporting agency (PRA) Platts.  The market is for physical cargoes or partial cargoes, with date of loading in the current month,  for Dubai crude or allowed substitutes including Oman, Upper Zakum, Al Shaeen and Murban.

Quality

Dubai is a medium sour crude oil suited to a refinery with significant resid conversion and hydrotreating capacity.
