Come by Chance was a medium sized, low-complexity refinery locate in Newfoundland, in Canada

The refinery primarily processed Eastern Canadian crude

The refinery ceased operations in 2020, and was sold to Cresta Funds Management with plans to convert to a renewable fuels plant

1973 - refinery commissioned by Shaheen Resources

1976 - Refinery declared bankruptcy and ceased operations

1980 - Acquired by PetroCanada, but did not restart

1986 - Acquired by Newfoundland Processing (for $1)

1987 - Refinery restarted

1994 - Acquired by Vitol and operated as North Atlantic Refining

2014 - Acquired by SilverRange Capital Partners

2020 - Refinery stopped operations after unsuccessful negotiations to sell to Irving Oil

2021 - Acquired by Crest Funds Management, with plans to convert to a renewables fuels plant
