Refinery history
1934 - Refinery commissioned by El Tejon Oil and Refining
1943 - Company acquired by Kreiger Oil
1945 - Name changed to Douglas Oil
1962 - Refinery acquired by Continental Oil from Douglas
1966 - Edgington Oil and Signal Oil acquire the refinery and change name to Kern County Refinery
1971 - Company acquired by Charter Oil
1976 - Company taken private
1982 - Company renamed Kern Oil
1993 - Diesel hydrotreater and sulfur plant added
1996 - Refinery upgraded to make reformulated gasoline
2002 - Cogen added
2006 - SRU and hydrogen plant added, and hydroprocessing expanded to make ULSD
