Refinery history

1916 - Built by Great Eastern Refining

1924 - Acquired by Ashland

1998 - Marathon and Ashland merge operations as Marathon Ashland

1998 - Thermal cracker shutdown (4 kbpd)

2003 - Resid hydrotreater shut down

2004 - FCC gasoline hydrotreater added

2005 - Marathon acquires full control

2006 - Kerosene hydrotreater added

2008 - Baseoil plant shut down

2011 - Downstream business separated as Marathon Petroleum

2015 - Condensate splitter added (35 kbpd). $250MM project.
