Scotford refinery

Scotford is a large, high-conversion refinery located 40 miles northeast of Edmonton, Alberta in Western Canada.

It is 100% owned and operated by Shell through its Canadian subsidiary Shell Canada. It is integrated with the Scotford upgrader.

The refinery processes 100% synthetic crude oil supplied by the adjacent 225 kb/d Scotford Upgrader.

1984 - Refinery commissioned by Shell

2018 - Scotford upgrader sold to CNRL, with Shell retaining a 10% interest
