The Laurel refinery is a small, high conversion refinery located in Laurel, Montana in the US.

The refinery is 100% owned and operated by the farmers' cooperative CHS.

Refinery history

1930 - Built by Laurel Oil and Refinery

1943 - Acquired by National Coop Refining

2007 - Coker added

2015 - CHS buys out minority shareholders to become sole owner

2018 - Project to modify crude unit (4 kbpd) and add hydrogen plant (37 MMscfd). $406MM project.
