Sinopec is a multinational oil company based in China.
Sinopec is the largest refining company globally in terms of refining capacity (with over 5.6 MMb/d) and one of the largest in terms of the number of refineries in which it has an ownership interest (29).
While refining is the largest part of Sinopec's business it also plays in upstream (in China, North Africa, Canada, West Africa, North Sea), chemicals, marketing, logistics and renewables.

Sinopec has an ownership interest in 29 refineries. Most are wholly owned and operated by Sinopec, two are in joint ventures with other refining companies (Fujian and Yasref).
