1954 - Profit sharing agreement between NIOC and consortium of international oil companies operating in Iran

1980 - Nationalization of all oil assets

1991 - NIORDC formed and all refining assets and operations transferred to it from the Ministry of Petroleum

1997 - Bandar Abbas refinery commissioned
