Usan (crude)

Usan is a medium, sweet crude produced in the Nigeria

Production comes from the Usan oil field, in deep water off the coast of Nigeria.  The field is operated by ExxonMobil, and is owned by ExxonMobil, CNOOC, Chevron, and Total

Crude is loaded from the Usan FPSO

Spot prices are reported by both Platts and Argus, for 950,000-1,000,000 bbl cargoes, FOB at the Usan FPSO. There is also an official formula price posted by NNPC

Quality

Usan is a medium sweet crude, suitable to refineries with limited hydrotreating.  It is also preferred by refineries with resid cracking capacity and/or strong markets for low sulfur fuel oil
