Naphtha is a broad term referring to distillation fractions and intermediates in the gasoline boiling range. Typically naphtha is categorized based on its boiling range as either:

Light naphtha - used as petrochemical feed stock, C5 isomerization feed stock, or direct gasoline blending

Heavy naphtha - feed stock to the reformer to make reformate for gasoline blending
