1917 - Sun Company of Canada established to supply lubricants and kerosene in Montreal
1920 - Sun Company began marketing fuels supplied by rail from US
1930 - Sun Company opened first Sunoco retail stations in Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec City
1953 - Sarnia refinery commissioned by Sun Company of Canada
1979 - Sun Company of Canada combined with Great Canadian Oil Sands to form Suncor
1985 - PetroCanada acquired Gulf Canada (with Edmonton and Montreal refineries)
2003 - Commerce City West refinery acquired by Suncor from ConocoPhillips
2005 - Commerce City East refinery acquired by Suncor from Valero
2009 - PetroCanada merged into Suncor
