The refinery is owned and operated by OMV through its Romanian subsidiary Petrom.

1934 - Refinery commissioned as the Creditul Minier refinery

1962 - FCC and reforming added

1965 - Integrated with chemicals plant

1997 - Petrom established as the state oil company, owning Petrobrazi

2004 - Company privatized as OMV Petrom
