Refining history

1958 - Aspropyrgos refinery commissioned

1966 - Thessaloniki refinery commissioned by ESSO Pappas

1971 - Elefsis refinery commissioned by Petrola Hellas

1975 - Public Petroleum Corporation  (DEP) established and acquires Aspropyrgos refinery

1981 - Greek government acquires ESSO assets including Thessaloniki refinery and renames EKO

1991 - DEP acquires EKO

1998 - DEP renamed Hellenic Petoleum

? - Hellenic acquires Petrola Hellas and the Elefsis refinery
