Phillips Petroleum

Phillips was a US based oil and gas company with a large refinery portfolio that ultimately merged with Conoco to form ConocoPhillips. The  refining part of the business was later separated as Phillips 66.

Refining history

1927 - Acquired Borger refinery

1947 - Acquires Sweeny refinery

1947 - Acquires Woods Cross refinery from Wasatch

1948 - Acquires Great Falls refinery from Wasatch

1953 - Shuts down Pocatello, Idaho and Spokane, Washington refineries

1966 - Shuts down Okmulgee, Okalhoma refinery

1981 - Sells Great Falls refinery to Montana Refining

1982 - Shuts down Kansas City, Kansas refinery

2001 - Acquired Tosco with  8 refineries (Wood River, Bayway, Los Angeles, Alliance, Ferndale, San Francisco, Trainer, Martinez (Avon))

2002 - Merges with Conoco to form ConocoPhillips
