Stream day is a method of defining a refinery or process plant's processing capacity. Stream considers the maximum throughput that a plant can achieve at a moment in time, ignoring any slow downs or outages for maintenance or operational considerations.

This is in contrast to calendar day, which factors in typical limitations on through put to give a more accurate indicator of expected average available capacity over a long period of time.
