Heide is a small, medium complexity refinery located in Northwestern Germany.

The refinery is owned and operated by the Klesch Group.

1940 - Two distillation units commissioned to provide fuel for the war

1944 - Refinery destroyed

1947 - Reconstruction of the plant

1952 - FCC added

1956 - Aromatics plant added

1967 - Acquired by Texaco

1973 - New CDU, vacuum and SRU added

1988 - Texaco Germany operations acquired by RWE DEA

1998 - Hydrocracker added

2002 - DEA and Shell form JV to operate the plant

2004 - Shell acquires full ownership

2010 - Klasch Group acquires the refinery from Shell
