Idemitsu is a major refining company with operations primarily in Japan.

Idemitsu owns and operates three refineries in Japan and has an ownership interest in three additional refineries through its participation in Showa Shell, since buying out most of Shell's interest in 2016.  All six refineries are due to be integrated under full Idemitsu ownership and operating control in April 2019.

2016 - Acquisition of most of Shell's interest in Showa Shell

2019 - Full integration of Showa Shell assets into Idemitsu

2024 - Decommissioned Yamaguchi refinery in March 2024
