Andeavor was a large independent refining company with operations based  in the US.

Andeavor built its refining portfolio primarily though acquisitions of individual plants and through its merger with Western Refining.

In 2018, Andeavor merged with Marathon Petroleum.

1964 - Acquired Wolf Pt, Montana, refinery from Petrofuels

1967 - Acquired Newcastle refinery from Sioux Oil

1969 - Built Kenai refinery

1970 - Sold Wolf Pt, Montana, refinery to Western

1973 - Acquired Wolf Pt, Montana, refinery from Western

1977 - Sold Wolf Pt, Montana, refinery to Kenco

1977 - Sold Newcastle refinery to Hermes

1984 - Shut down Carrizo Springs, Texas, refinery

1998 - Acquired Kapolei refinery from BHP

1998 - Acquired Anacortes refinery from Shell

2001 - Acquired Salt Lake City refinery from BP

2001 - Acquired Mandan refinery from BP

2002 - Acquired Martinez refinery from Valero

2007 - Acquired Wilmington refinery from Shell

2013 - Acquired Carson refinery from BP

2013 - Sold Kapolei refinery to Par Pacific

2016 - Acquired Dickinson refinery from WBI (MDU and Calumet)

2017 - Acquired Western with three refineries (Gallup, St Paul Park, El Paso)

2017 - Changed name from Tesoro to Andeavor

2018 - Merged into Marathon Petroleum
