Bonny Light (crude)

Also known as:

BNL

Bonny light is a light-sweet crude oil produced in Nigeria.  It is an important benchmark crude for all West African production.

Production comes from the Bonny Light  oilfield on the coast of Nigeria.  The field is operated by Shell and owned by NNPC, Shell, Total and ENI

Spot prices are reported by both Platts and Argus, for 950,000-1,000,000 bbl cargoes, FOB at the Bonny terminal. There is also an official formula price posted by NNPC

Quality:

Bonny light has particularly good gasoline yields, which has made it a popular crude for US refiners, particularly on the US east Coast.
